The reason for choosing the name “ZAHRAVI” was to show gratitude and appreciation to ABOLGHASSEM ZAHRAVI’S endeavours who was a high ranking pharmacist, surgeon, and physician in the ninth century A.D., and whose text books have been a source and guide to the pharmacists, and surgeons in the Middle Ages.

“ZAHRAVI” being the birth plece of this great scientist, is a place near GHARTABEH in Spain, which was constructed by the order of ABDOLRAHMAN the third, and nemed after his mistress in 936 A.D.
